This beef short rib will be TONIGHT’S special at Pitt Cue Co, Soho. (Fri 28-Sep)

After my visit to Duke’s BBQ joint to try their beef ribs last night, I received this from Neil Rankin, Head Chef of Pitt Cue. Co-incidentally they are preparing to unleash their own beef ribs today as a special. They will be slow-cooked for a mind boggling 7 hours, ready for the Friday dinner session, 18h00-23h00.

To the unitiated, beef ribs are ‘jaw-droppingly’ large compared to their pork cousins. At 10-15cm thick they bring flashbacks of the opening credits of The Flintstones .

Pitt Cue Co., the winners of Zagat London 2012 “Best Newcomer” Award, are regarded by many as the best BBQ in London. Starting with streetfood truck, they evolved to take a small venue near Carnaby Street. Their shiny silver airstream trailer returned this summer under Hungerford Bridge with an innovative burger known as the “Trailer Trash” (a macaroni and cheese ‘patty’ topped with pulled pork).
