Joe Grossman, the larger than life Antipodean burger-man, announced today that he is opening a venue in Duke Street, (nr Bond Street Station). Joe has become a very popular character in the London Pop-up Burger Scene, gathering lots of fans with his infectious enthusiasm and curiously named ‘Ari Gold’ and ‘Foghorn Leghorn’ burgers.
Joe, has had massive success with his burger pop-ups at Doodle Bar (Battersea) and The Endurance (Soho). His next move has been widely anticipated, however several fans expected another pop-up rather than a ‘full blown’ permanent restaurant.
The exact location of Patty & Bun Joe’s new location is the former ‘Stockpot’ site on Duke Street, near Bond Street. This street is well known to frequent shoppers in Selfridges, it has lots of other eateries but no burger joints.
This area of London is not without competition. It is already home to Meat Liquor and the newly opened Tommi’s Burger. Personally I don’t think this is a problem as both these well known burger venues serve a different ‘style’ of burger to Patty & Bun Joe. In my opinion, Tommi’s is more of a good solid traditional ‘non-nonsense’ burger. Meat Liquor is more ‘American style’. Patty & Bun Joe all more of a ‘lots-of-juicy-toppings’ kinda burger so I’m pretty sure that they won’t eat into each other’s markets too much [pun intended].
In correspondence with Joe today, he has this message for his fans.
“It’s all about using the best ingredients we can get our hands on… [with a] proprietary blend of meat… [expect a] Simple menu along with very simple and fun drinks menu…” – Joe Grossman
Looking forward to to getting our big juicy burgers Joe!
