More pizza in Soho?
Soho isn’t lacking for pizzerias. Alongside two Pizza Pilgrims, Soho Joe, Piccolo Forno, a very large Jazz-centric Pizza Express and a heap of chains it appears that there is (or was) a potential Franco Manca.
Oceanic Jewellers, 50-51 Berwick Street, a potential Franco Manca?
The very distinctively 1970’s looking Oceanic Jewellers Ltd is situated at the northern end of Berwick Street directly opposite Ember Yard by the Salt Yard Group and a few doors south of Cookhouse Joe. Walking about it today I noticed this in the window.
Franco Manca has recently expanded their operation beyond their well loved original Brixton Village venue to spawn eight further sites including Broadway Market, Westfield Shopping Centre and Chiswick with a site due to open in Dulwich.
Interestingly the application is in the name of “Franco Manca 2 UK Ltd”, the same legal name which appeared on the licence application for their site at 98 Tottenham Court Road.
However, before Franco Manca fans become too excited, note that the application also states a deadline for objections as 28th April 2014 which suggests that the plans may have stalled or been abandoned.
