Cakeageddon – The World’s First Edible Horror Farm

Fancy cakes of dismembered body parts and other nastiness? If so read on.

For the last four years Miss Cakehead, curator or all things macabre, has hosted a halloween cake shop full of gore and generally non-kiddy friendly baked goods. In 2013 it was a ‘Kracken Autopsy’ starring maggot riddled pieces of giant mythical sea creature. In 2012 it was cakes of diseased and deformed body parts in St Bart’s Pathology museum.

This year Miss Cakehead has stepped up her game with an interactive ‘edible horror farm’.

What is a horror farm?

“Well don’t pry too much because we all know how the curious cat ended up… If you do want to come and investigate the strange goings on here though, you might do well to bring a friend – we don’t want anyone picked off.

Those select few brave enough to venture into the woods will witness, gorge, and be hunted through the world’s most terrifying cake installation, and those that make it out will ensure it is THE most talked about scare attraction of 2014.

Your mistress of misery for this symposium of sweet slaughter is the infamous and eccentric MISS CAKEHEAD. Her latest reinvention is as far from a convivial cake connoisseur as The Big Bad Wolf is from a vegan food hall.

“Think cakes are all sunshine and rainbows? You couldn’t be further from the tooth…”

I won’t spoil the experience for visitors, but you are lead on a guided tour of the farm which has been decorated with twisted cake homages to classic children’s fairy tales including The Three Little Pigs; Little Red Riding Hood; and Hansel & Gretel.

If you can’t (don’t want) to travel to the farm in Letchworth, the Eat Your Heart Out Pop-up Cake Shop will be selling many of the cakes at The Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch until Sat 01 Nov

Note that this isn’t safe for kids… I arrived early yesterday to be told “The vagina and used Tampax cakes are still on their way, but everything else is here.” So there you go…
