London’s “nomadic street food circus” returns to Haggerston this weekend for the next ten weeks for Winter/Spring 2015. There will be a revolving selection of street food traders plus six bars including a whisky bar, a dedicated spritz bar from Kammerling’s and cocktails from Milk & Honey private members club.

Street Feast, the powerhouse of the new-wave street food scene is returning to Haggerston this weekend. Their take over of a disused office block, formally occupied by the Fairground project is split into three zones each occupying its own floor.

  • Level 1: Cocktail BBQ & Buns
Rotary Cocktail Bar – Bleecker, Boom Burger, Dogtown, Smokestak and Yum Bun
  • Level 2: Spritz, Craft Beer, Asian Food
Kamms Spritz Bar / Craft Beers – Baba G, Kimchinary, Rainbo, Sambal Shiok
  • Level 3: Whisky, Wine, Mexican Food
Whisky Bar / Wine Bar / Milk & Honey Mercury Lounge – Breddos Tacos

We are now in a disused office block in Haggerston E8 (across the road from #MerchantYard RIP) and we’ve kept all the best bits of our original indoor ‘hawker’ night market – the beats, burgers, Hawker Hot Toddies and Hacienda stripes – and added two new bars and a cocktail lounge with a street food snacking/sharing menu, table service, proper glassware and brilliant bartenders.

Level 1 is all about huge Rotary cocktails and a rotating line-up of barbecue and buns from Bleecker, Boom Burger, Dogtown, Smokestak and Yum Bun. The party continues on Level 2 with aperitifs at the Kamms Spritz Bar (see last summer’s #KammShed), icy-cold craft beers and a pan-Asian tour of curries, dumplings, salads and fried chicken from Baba G, Kimchinary, Rainbo and more.

Head further upstairs to Level 3 to discover the new and improved Whisky Bar, the Wine Bar and the Milk & Honey Mercury Lounge with its classic jazz soundtrack, strong and long cocktails and a sustaining menu of modern Mexican mouthfuls from the fabulous Breddos boys. Picture it now – your own candlelit table loaded with Chipotle Beef Tacos, Crab Tostadas with apple, fennel and jalapeño, Native Oysters with habanero vinegar, a fresh and fiery Florodora and a peaty Penicillin. That’s living.

Doors open every Friday and Saturday from 5pm till midnight. Entry is FREE before 7pm and £4 after. The bars all take cards but you’ll need a fistful of folding for the food. The nearest cash machine is 30 seconds up the road at Tesco.

Please note: There’s no wheelchair access – the lift was decommissioned years ago – and getting a pram up and downstairs is going to be difficult but we are very happy to help get you and your things in and up and around. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
