Ittenbari is a relatively new ramen and sushi bar on Brewer Street, Soho. Curiously enough, they serve a Miso Ramen… with Marmite!
Ramen bars are popular late night eateries frequented by hoards of ‘salaryman’ in Japan. These ‘salaryman’ are the worker-ants of Japan. They are the men who work superhuman hours, often sacrificing everything in their life for their employer. Does this sound a little too familiar? I was one of these too for many years, I’ve worked in The City (‘The Street’ for all you Americans) so I can state with confidence that the British Equivalent is not dissimilar!
After a great night with the Juniper Society at Graphic Bar, I honestly feel like a ‘salaryman’ slurping awesome ramen after a drinking session… this is the Miso Ramen which is listed on the menu as;
Miso Ramen – Very rich and delicious soup ade from the finest miso (soy bean paste). Variety of ingredients include fresh apple, tomato, honey, and your all-time favourite, “Marmite”!

Fortunately, if you don’t fancy the Marmite infused Miso Ramen, Ittenbari has 3 others to try. The ‘Ittenbari Ramen’, ‘Shoyu Ramen’ and ‘Seafood Fried Ramen’. See here for the full details
Review to follow… when I get back there… sober…
